Richard J. McNally
Director of Clinical Training Department of Psychology
McNally Laboratory studies anxiety disorders (e.g., social anxiety disorder), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complicated grief, and depression. A major emphasis is elucidating cognitive biases constitutive of these syndromes, and testing methods for reducing these biases, thereby fostering symptom reduction. Hence, much of our work falls under the rubric of experimental psychopathology as it aims to illuminate the mechanisms driving the etiology and maintenance of emotional disorders.
